New Member’s First ED Issued in ONE Day
New Member’s First ED Issued in ONE Day
When our general manager, Ken Tsunoda, was contacted recently by an executive at a leading foundation regarding our capabilities, they experienced the benefit of NGOsource’s growing repository of equivalency determinations (EDs).

The foundation was interested in joining NGOsource. But they needed an ED quickly. They asked if we could expedite the request and complete it in four weeks.

The NGO for which they needed an ED was already in the NGOsource repository. We issued the ED certificate that same day — for $250. This is precisely NGOsource's mission: to streamline international grantmaking through
faster, easier, affordable equivalency determination.

Asylum Aid: Helping Those Fleeing Persecution
Asylum Aid: Helping Those Fleeing Persecution

Those of us who live in a stable democracy often take our freedoms for granted — particularly our right to speak out and question without being tortured, killed, or otherwise silenced.

When Shahzaib finally had no choice but to flee his beloved country and sought asylum in the United Kingdom, he received help from Asylum Aid. Since 1990, Asylum Aid has helped more than 30,000 refugees. The NGO also works with the U.K. government to improve policies. Read the full story.

Small Grantors Sign Up Free: Do More with Us
No legal team in house? Not a native speaker? Overwhelmed by doing it all yourself? Our members told us what it’s like out there, especially if you have a smaller budget. So we listened.

This spring, we want to help all our grantmakers thrive. If your organization has an annual grant budget of less than $5 million, sign up for free with the Small Foundation Special.

NGOsource does the heavy lifting for you. Rely on attorneys who’ve worked in international giving, our in-country native speakers who know local customs, and our growing repository of completed equivalency determinations (EDs).

We’ll waive the first-year membership fee, so you’ll save $1,000 and get to see just how easy the system is. (Save even more if you find an ED already in our repository.)

(Available for a limited time only. Budget limitations apply.)

See Us at CoF’s Annual Conference in D.C.

The Council on Foundations will hold its annual conference June 8 – 10, 2014 (preconference June 6 – 7) in Washington, D.C., to examine the “Role of Philanthropy in an Increasingly Polarized Society.” Join us there this summer.

This Philanthropy Exchange aims to identify the social issues that fracture our nation and highlight solutions, models, practices, and conversations that help bridge these divides. The focus will be on five topical pillars: democratic practice, poverty, health, environmental sustainability, and education.

Did you know the Council on Foundations was instrumental to the very creation of NGOsource as a central repository for all international grantmakers? From conception to launch, CoF and others chose TechSoup as its partner in NGOsource.

Who Has a Database of 546,000 NGOs?
With an NGO database of 546,000 members and decades of NGO validation experience, TechSoup Global delivers an astounding volume of services to NGOs from more than 100 major technology companies: Microsoft, Intuit, Adobe, Cisco, Symantec, and others.

NGOsource not only leverages TSG's data and expertise, it exists because of it. After a rigorous selection process, four leading philanthropy organizations chose TSG to build and run NGOsource.

But NGOsource is just one of many accomplishments. By the end of its 2013 fiscal year, the TechSoup Global network offered capacity-building services in 53 countries, operating programs in 21 languages, and NGO validation in 78 countries. Discover TechSoup.
Ken's Update
We do the legwork, legal work, and paperwork for you. NGOsource allows
U.S. grantmakers to quickly and accurately determine if an overseas NGO is equivalent to a U.S. public charity (the process of “equivalency determination” or “ED”).
