Small Grantors Sign Up Free: Do More with Us
No legal team in house? Not a native speaker? Overwhelmed by doing it all yourself? Our members told us what it’s like out there, especially if you have a smaller budget. So we listened.

This spring, we want to help all our grantmakers thrive. If your organization has an annual grant budget of less than $5 million, look for the Small Foundation Special in March.

NGOsource does the heavy lifting for you. Rely on attorneys who’ve worked in international giving, our in-country native speakers who know local customs, and our growing repository of completed equivalency determinations (EDs).

We’ll waive the first-year membership fee, so you’ll save $1,000 and see just how easy the system is. (Save even more if you find an ED already in our repository.)

(Available for a limited time. Budget and other limitations apply.)

Of NGOs, 100% Recommend NGOsource
Of NGOs, 100% Recommend NGOsource

We want both our grantmakers and the NGOs they support to be thoroughly satisfied. We send a survey to each NGO that completes our process as we believe that’s the best way to improve our service and truly serve international grantmaking.

We are pleased to say 100% of NGOs surveyed said they would recommend NGOsource to other grantmakers. An overwhelming number of NGOs reported that our support staff’s responses to their questions were very helpful.

Our service allows grantmakers to reach in-country NGOs that may not otherwise have access to international grant funds. Of the NGOs surveyed, 70% had never done an ED request before and 27% had only done it once. Discover the benefits.

Welcome to Our Newest Members!
Welcome to Our Newest Members!
More NGOsource members means more affordable equivalency determinations (EDs). Our members benefit from each other's completed EDs. Because we all share in the work that's completed, the rate to reorder is much lower. Spread the word to build a repository of EDs for all.

We’re pleased to greet these new members:

The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation

The Christensen Fund
Conrad N. Hilton Foundation
Ford Foundation
Jewish Communal Fund
Levi Strauss Foundation
Omidyar Network
W. K. Kellogg Foundation

What Is a “Charitable Purpose” Anyway?
One question that’s addressed by an equivalency determination (ED) review is whether an NGO has a charitable purpose. Here are a few real-life examples:

EcoCiencia

EcoCiencia in Quito, Ecuador, works to conserve biodiversity by promoting sustainability, recovering indigenous peoples' knowledge, and educating others about environmental issues.
