These machines are more durable, perfect for public access use, thoroughly tested, and come straight from our expert refurbisher partners. All hardware is covered by a 90-day warranty, and computers come with Windows 7, Microsoft Office, and Norton AntiVirus already installed (admin fee $72 – $690). And because they're refurbished, computing and conserving go hand in hand. Hardware was never so easy!
Rural Libraries as Innovation Incubators
TechSoup for Libraries Team
Brenda at ALA with Sarah Washburn and Crystal Schimpf
Brenda Hough recently attended the ALA conference and blogged about a fascinating session led by The Association for Rural and Small Libraries (ARSL) leaders entitled, "The Future is Now: Rural Library as Innovation Incubator." Read the post to learn 6 inspiring tips for creatively planning what is next for your library. Andrea Berstler, Director at the Wicomico Public Library (MD) shared the importance of taking risks and stressed that, "There’s a difference between failing and being a failure. Failing means I learned something. Being a failure means I stopped trying." Inspiration abounds with rural libraries. If you are working at a rural library, consider attending the next ARSL conference. We'll be sure to be there!
